Blackrock’s assets under management total US$3.5 trillion as at 30 September 2011. Blackrock manage our Fixed Interest and Deposit funds as well as our investment in gilts.
Goldman Sachs Asset Management is one of the top 10 asset managers globally with assets under management of $714.6 billion as at 31 March 2011. Their experienced investment teams offer a broad range of competitive products across asset classes, regions and the risk spectrum. GSAM manage the assets backing our Enhanced and Conventional annuities.
Insight is a specialist asset manager with £168.3 billion in assets under management as at 31 December 2011. Insight launched in 2002 and has grown to be one of the largest asset managers in the UK, winning industry recognition for their investment capabilities. Insight manage the cash element of our FIA Active and Passive range.
Jupiter launched in 1985 as a specialist boutique and has grown to be one of the UK’s most successful and respected investment management groups. Jupiter has £22.8 billion in asset under management as at 31 December 2011.
Newton Investment Management is a London-based, global investment subsidiary of The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation. With assets under management of over £47 billion as at 30 June 2011, Newton provides a broad range of award-winning investment products and services to a wide range of clients. Newton is one of our specialist managers managers in the FIA Active range.
The Vanguard Group is one of the world’s largest investment management companies, managing over $1.8 trillion in assets as at 31 December 2011. The Vanguard Group launched its first index fund in 1976 and launched its international business, Vanguard Investments UK ltd, in 2009.
Schroders is an independent, dedicated asset manager with a strong heritage and culture based on over 200 years experience of investment markets. As at 31 December 2011 Schroders assets ubder management totalled £187.3bn. Schroders manage our investment in global bonds.

Legal and General Investment Management is one of Europe’s largest institutional asset managers managing £371 billion in assets for more than 3,000 clients as at 31 December 2011. They provide investment expertise across a full spectrum of asset classes including equities, fixed income, commercial property and cash.
Lothbury Investments Management Ltd launched on 1 June 2010 after an amicable management buyout of KBC Asset Management (UK) from the KBC Group. The newly named company has grown from £810 million ot £1.024 billion as at 31 December 2011.
M&G Investments is one of Europe’s leading active asset managers with over £200 billion under management as at 31 December 2011. In March 1999, M&G was acquired by Prudential PLC, one of the largest financial services providers in the UK and Europe. M&G functions as the asset manager for Prudential in Europe.
Threadneedle was founded in 1994 and is an award-winning provider of investment solutions to institutional and retail clients across the globe. Threadneedle is fully-owned by Ameriprise Financial, a publicly quoted investment company listed on the NYSE, and has over £61.9 billion in assets under management as at 30 September 2011.
