Interim Project Support Officer Job – fixed term contract until December 2012

We’re looking for a strong and experienced Project Support Officer to provide support to projects and Project Managers by co-ordinating the planning, tracking and documentation of a project from initiation to close down and benefit realisation.   You’ll be involved in assessing and controlling risks, issues, actions and dependencies and assumptions, ensuring the timely and appropriate resolution of these.  Additionally, you’ll maintain plans, reporting variances to the Project Manager and you’ll be responsible for ensuring documentation, project files, controls and processes are current and up to date.  As well, you’ll be involved in producing MI, co-ordinating workshops and producing presentations as well as maintaining the project budgets accurately at all times.

About you

This is a key support function for MGM’s strategic projects and the role requires someone who can understand projects and programme objectives and has 5+ years experience as a PSO.  You’ll have excellent Microsoft Office skills and be proficient in Microsoft project (2010) and will be familiar with the project budget process.

You must have have Prince 2 foundation qualification or equivalent and have a good understanding of risk and issue management.

With excellent attention to detail, you’ll also be extremely organised and have excellent time management skills.  With self initiative and drive, you’re someone who will be structured in your approach to work and with the ability to exercise clear discipline and control in your work processes.
