Inheritance tax is often described as the most hated of taxes. This is because, in most cases, it’s a tax on assets people have built up during their lifetime that they’ve already paid tax on. Unfortunately, the latest statistics from the Office of National Statistics suggest that more than 4m people are now liable for Inheritance Tax. That’s nearly 20% of all families.
